... Come. Will you not speak? Will you not tell the witch who is granting you a second chance of yourself and that world of yours?

...you're strange. You talk to a doll as if it was a living thing. [rises up] However, it would be too impolite to refuse such a simple request, so I'll gladly tell you everything.

I was humbly referred to as Kohaku. I acted as a simple maid for the Tohno family for many years. They thought I was good and loyal to them, no matter what cruelties were inflicted on me. But they were wrong.

For the sake of revenge, I decided everyone in the family must die. I caused the son of the family to distrust the father, and he died. I distracted the daughter of the family when she confronted him and she was killed as well. The son was then killed by his own failing health. After they died, I lost my reason to continue to be alive, so I quietly committed suicide. I died very quickly... but not quickly enough.

That's the short version. If I was to tell you the whole story... it would take more than eight full breaths to say. But if you wish to hear any finer details I will recall them for you.

... And so, you have ended your life in the most pitiful way possible. [ but, she can relate ] If you are able to speak like this.... Hm. You are not completely in despair just yet, right...?

... Though, I must say, those regrets you have are rather interesting. [ cacklecackle ]

[shakes her head] I do not feel any despair.

[laughs a little too, like she's enjoying it] It hurt.

... Oh? Even though you claimed to be nothing more than a doll just a moment ago, you do not feel despair?

Not at all.

A doll doesn't feel despair. How do I put this? I don't understand what would be a 'good' future, or a 'bad' future. That's why I can't understand despair at all.

But I lost my purpose. I completed the role I was playing... so after that, there was nothing left but for myself to die too.

And if I were to tell you that you would be used for the remainder of eternity as my doll? ... That is why you were brought here, after all. Though, through that, you would be granted another purpose entirely.

Are you sure you would want that? There might be... consequences.

I might work to undermine you.

... How nice. You assume that you shall have a purpose to exist for if you attempt any such thing?

[shakes her head]
